How Leicester fans are honouring Vichai a year on from tragic helicopter crash
Leicester fans are planning a mass walk from the city centre to the King Power Stadium today in honour of Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, as the anniversary of the late owner's death approaches.
Thai businessman Vichai was killed in a helicopter crash outside Leicester's King Power Stadium on October 27 last year.
Tributes will be paid on Saturday as Burnley visit in the Foxes' final home game before the first anniversary of the tragedy.
Last year, 50,000 people made their way from the city centre to the stadium for the game against Burnley in the immediate aftermath of the incident.
The Clarets are the visitors once again today as Foxes supporters plan a similar walk.
And Leicester announced this week they will officially open the Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Memorial Garden on the anniversary of the crash, October 27 - a peaceful space designed to protect the scene of the accident and form a permanent tribute to those who died.
Brendan Rodgers was not manager at the time of the accident but has led a resurgence in the team's fortunes this season and Leicester are fourth in the Premier League heading into the match.
The Northern Irishman, who took charge of the side in February, said: "It's certainly something that, having come in here, I really got to understand and recognise what an important figure he was.
"I think the feeling that he gave people and players and staff, you cannot buy that. He was close to many people at the club and the players had that real affinity with him, and still do.
"He was a fighter, he wanted his teams to fight, and he wanted his people to fight for the very best.
"And I think that's what we see in the performances of the players in what we've tried to do since I came in."
