Patrice Evra Destroys Arsenal 'Babies' After 1-0 Defeat To Sheffield United
Patrice Evra ripped into Arsenal "babies" after they lost 1-0 away at Sheffield United on Monday evening.
Unai Emery's side went down without reply to a solitary strike from Lys Mousset in the first half and continued their wretched away form under the Spaniard.
In their last 24 Premier League away games, Arsenal have won just eight, losing 10 and keeping just two clean sheets in that period.
And Evra, who came up against the Gunners on many occasions during his time at Manchester United, did not pull any punches with his criticism.
He talked about always enjoying playing against Arsenal, welcoming Robin van Persie to a "man's club" when the Dutchman joined United and having a dig at skipper Granit Xhaka.
"I used to call them my babies 10 years ago and they're still, when I look at them, my babies and that's the truth," Evra said on Sky Sports after the game, as per
"I'm not being disrespectful when I say that, it's just the feeling I've got with this team.
"They look pretty, they look good, but they don't look like a winning team. They're just here playing good football.
"When I looked at Arsenal, I was so happy to play against Arsenal because I knew I was going to win.
"Even when Robin van Persie came, and the first time I shook his hand, I said 'welcome to a man's club'. At the beginning he was upset but after one month he said, 'you're completely right, Patrice' and that's my feeling.
"Guendouzi, he's playing the best in midfield, but he's a player who was playing in the second league in France and even then he was not playing regularly and he's the best player on this team.
"I know some legends, they are fuming when they see that [Granit] Xhaka is the captain of Arsenal.
"I respect them, Aubameyang and Lacazette, but you can see that if those guys don't score goals they are in trouble and nothing has changed.
"I'm like 'where is Arsene? Where is Wenger?' It's the same!"
Arsenal just lost to Sheffield United and Patrice Evra is on national tv 10 seconds later saying that this is how Arsenal as a club are: 'I told Van Persie when he came to United, welcome to a "man's team" and after one month he realised I was right" Ouch.- The Man Utd Way (@TheManUtdWay) October 21, 2019
