The Batman Can Only Exist In The DCEU If It Retcons Justice League - Tech Ballad
Batman has too many follow-up issues to exist in the DCEU - unless the movie is found again Justice League, effectively moving away from the rule. Otherwise, The Batman will not be able to connect to the DC movie universe.
DCEU's Bruce Wayne played Ben Affleck. Affleck starred as a character in two DCEU films: Batman v. Superman: The dawn of Justice and Justice. In Batman v. Superman, Affleck's Batman is an older version of the Caped Crusader that forces him to hunt and kill Superman (Henry Cavill) after being manipulated by Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenburg). Ultimately, Superman and Batman set aside their differences to fight Superman's strongest enemy, Doomsday. In League Justice, Batman and his new superhero team go up against DC Comics villain Steppenwolf and deal with Superman's resurrection.

About: How Joaquin Phoenix's Joker Could Meet Robert Pattinson's Batman
Justice League is not supposed to be Bruce Wayne's last appearance on Ben Affleck. The hero was to return to DCEU's first solo Batman movie. For some time, there have been contradictory reports on whether Affleck would want to reprise the role. Eventually it was confirmed that Affleck was done with Batman and the character would be portrayed by Robert Pattinson. Directed by Matt Reeves, The Batman will hit theaters in 2021. It remains to be seen whether it will fit into the DCEU or stand alone as the Joker, but if it is the last, then some major changes are needed to make it work.
What we know about Batman's story
The DCEU touched on Batman's past while investigating the deaths of his parents, but never gave him a true origin story, not even The Batman. The origins of Batman have been told several times before, so The Batman will not repeat the same story. However, it will at least explain how Batman developed a reputation as the greatest detective in the DC Universe. Obviously, this is one aspect of his character that won't exist until The Batman. Bruce Wayne's crafting skills are said to be essential to the film, and Batman also has a plot driven by elements of the noir.
The details of the artistic events are kept under wraps, but rumors have been shed of what the film's story might entail. Many villains will reportedly be in the mix when Robert Pattinson's Batman explores his first big mystery. Zoe Kravitz has filed as Catwoman, and more announcements are expected of Batman's long-time villains, such as Riddler, Penguin, Two-Face, and the most notable members of the Batman Gallery. Batman's main enemies, such as the Joker and Harley Quinn, could also appear at some point given their recent appearance in other DC movies. Many villains in The Batman make sense, as just one villain involved in the story wouldn't make for a very exciting mystery for a detective to solve.
Why Batman can't exist in the DCEU
Marvel movies in the MCU thrive on the links between them and so far the films in the DCEU have done the same. Suicide Squad and Shazam! never tried to hide DCEU connections. Suicide Squad and Shazam! fully embraced the fact that DC's two biggest superheroes, Superman and Batman, exist in their worlds. Regardless, it seems that Warner Bros. not too keen to follow the same pattern as The Batman. Based on what is known today, Batman contains too many contradictions with the DCEU rule to happen in the same universe, though these are problems that could easily be avoided.
About: Batman's new cat has already played Selina Kyle For DC
First of all, Bruce Wayne is played by a young actor who is over 10 years younger than Affleck's version. While The Batman, which takes place much earlier in Bruce Wayne's crime-fighting career, could explain this change, Batman is not the only character re-enacted for the Matt Reeves film. There is also the case of Gotham City police officer James Gordon. Commissioner Gordon was introduced by J.K. Simmons in the Justice League, but Jeffrey Wright is in talks to play Gordon in The Batman.
Wright's cast as Gordon is the last nail in the coffin for Batman at the DCEU. If Warner Bros. if he really wanted The Batman to be in the DCEU, it would have brought Simmons back, or if the scheduling of the conflict was a problem, they could at least bring in an actor who looked quite like Simmons to make a convincing portrayal of the same character. Two actors for The Batman have been cast in roles that already exist at the DCEU, which means that their world doesn't look like it's established.
How the Retconning Justice League fixes Batman's problems
There is a way that Batman can fix the sequel issues and become part of the DCEU at the same time. But for that to happen, a movie that is already in the DCEU will have to be republished and dropped from the norm. Justice League, more than Batman v. Superman, is the way Robert Pattinson gets the Caped Crusader that joins DC common cinema. Batman can ignore everything that happened to the Justice League, including J.K. Simmons's role as Commissioner Gordon and the re-launch of the events of Justice.
Of course, it's possible that Warner Bros. and DC might not want to trade one movie for another, especially since one of them is the most expensive DC movie ever made. Justice, DC's response to The Avengers, was also its biggest crossover as it included Batman, Superman, Flash (Ezra Miller), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and Aquaman (Jason Momoa). In most cases, a film such as Justice League would normally be too important for the DCEU to recast, but League Justice is a special case. Justice LeagueThe box office final numbers were the lowest DCEU at the time of release. He lost a ton of money for the studio, and was poorly received by fans and critics. The movie was a disaster for DC, so forgetting what happened can never be a bad idea after all and could end up benefiting Batman.
