Compact car Opel Corsa next generation will get a version with fully electric propulsion. About it reports a press-service of the German mark.
The new Opel Corsa, which is expected to fall following the Peugeot 208, will appear in 2019 and its electrical modification debuts a year later. Issue of new items will adjust to the plant in Zaragoza, Spain. “Corsa” will be the fourth joint project between Opel and French, Groupe PSA, which includes Peugeot and Citroen.
In the fall of 2017 Opel announced a plan of its further development under the name of PACE! that envisages a return to profit by 2020, unification of platforms and engines, as well as a massive shift to hybrid and electric propulsion.
To 2024 Opel plans to become the “green car manufacturer of the N1 in Europe.” In this strategy, the Germans are going to create eco-friendly modifications to each of its passenger models, as well as to increase the funding programmes for the development of hybrid, electric and hydrogen vehicles. By 2020 in the line of “Opel” will be no less than four new green cars including hybrid modification of the crossover Grandland X and electric Corsa.
