In France, in Poitiers, a woman died from measles. On Tuesday, February 13, announced the regional health service in Bordeaux.
According to doctors, a 32-year-old woman had not been vaccinated. She was admitted to hospital on 1 February. Subsequently, she was transferred to the ICU but could not be saved.
As noted, the measles struck the Western region of New Aquitaine in November. It was confirmed 269 cases, 66 people were hospitalized for treatment. About a quarter of the hospitalized patients were treated in intensive care.
French health authorities said that the death of a woman stressed the importance of vaccination against measles, and asked the French to check medical records to make sure they were vaccinated.
